Incense with Intent
Across Indian traditions, different deities and occasions are associated with distinct flowers, leaves, woods, foods and offerings. Bilva recalls Shiva. Durva is offered to Ganesha. Lotus carries the grace associated with Lakshmi. Tulsi belongs naturally within Krishna worship. Yet incense is often presented only by fragrance, detached from the context in which it is used.
Ishvarya began with the wish to reconnect those two things. Every collection starts with a deity, festival or ritual. We study the relevant offering traditions and cultural associations, then translate that understanding into a considered incense experience—through ingredients that are physically present, a refined fragrance composition, thoughtful formats and design that feels at home today.
What We Believe
Meaning Before Fragrance
We begin with the ritual context and build the sensory experience from there.
Rooted, not Ornamental
Tradition is not used as decoration. Cultural references are handled with care, context and restraint.
Clear about what is Present
The offerings named in our product stories are physically present in the product. Exact formulation and safety information remain distinct and factual.
Created for Today
We make rituals easier to understand and products easier to choose, use, store and reorder.
Refinement with Purpose
Our premium design creates calm and clarity without overwhelming the sacred moment.
Always Learning
Detailed cultural and scriptural content is published only after sourcing and review. Where certainty is incomplete, we choose restraint.
Crafted With Intention

Cultural responsibility
Manan Poddar
That question grew into a deeper exploration of how cultural understanding, thoughtful product development, and contemporary design could come together. It became the foundation of Ishvarya—a contemporary Indian ritual house built on the belief that incense and fragrance should begin with meaning.
As Co-Founder of Ishvarya, Manan oversees the brand’s vision, branding, marketing, and consumer experience. From researching what a product should represent to shaping how it is presented, explained, and experienced, he works to ensure that every expression of Ishvarya feels considered, culturally rooted, and relevant to the way rituals are lived today.
